Serious Bu$iness Audio

Audio from our June SB gigs: 6.8.08 & 6.25.08

Mars...My Stars!

A triumphant return to Plastic Tales From The Marshmallow Dimention yesterday. Despite a few technical difficulties the set went well. A lot of staples, but a few new pick-ups as well.

SB's First Saturday

The Space Sounds may have paid off. Or someone else cancelled last minute. Either way, Serious Business gets a shot at the Saturday crowd at SAVALAS (5/7/08). 285 Bedford Ave at South 1st Street. Audio from last week.

SB in Outre Space

Late announcement. TONIGHT (May 29th) Serious Business goes gangbusters on the synths / filters / echoplexes for an evening of space sounds and interdimensional boogie shit. Will link to audio in the FUTURE.

Final Conflict - Ashes to Ashes

Special thanks to Paul for hooking me up with this California-based punk record. Allmusic thinks this group is from the UK and the LP I've got was pressed in France, but their myspace reps Long Beach. Go figure. More punk to come in a few days.

Von Lmo - Future Language

Almost passed on this record. Happy as hell I didn't. Punk from the late 70's early 80's New York scene. Often lumped in with No Wave from that period. This is pop rock.

Proggin' All Over The World

I nice selection of Prog and Hard Rock tracks from around the world. Making stops in Germany, Japan, Argentina, Former-Yugoslavia, Italy, England, and Australia, this collection of songs features progs heavy hitters alongside a few lesser knowns. Highlights include the relentless "Pollo Frito" from Argentina's Crucis. The track's urgency only faulters for a middle section of seering Full House-interlude guitar licks. Also on the spastically driving tip is Le Orme from Italy who seem to include one track like "Ritorno Al Nulla" on each of their albums. Then we've got the Rock in Opposition founders Henry Cow whose sound is equal parts rock and contemporary classical.

Mixed Bag

Here is a bundle of tracks that I'd recorded for updates in the past, but never got around to posting. Two Radiohead sound-a-likes (Catherine Lara / J.K. & Co.), two from Brazil (Gal Costa / Secos & Molhados), and an odd track from Teddy Fire for good measure.

A Downtown Affair

Never one to leave a fellow businessman without a helping hand. I guested on Mike McGill's WNYU show A Downtown Affair last Friday. CHECK AUDIO
